Taking a 1-year-old to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea is a special kind of magic. It’s the kind where you see the wonder in your child’s eyes, the excitement of their first carousel ride, and the pure joy of meeting beloved Disney characters. But, as with any trip with a little one, it comes with its own set of challenges. After just experiencing this with my own child, I want to share some tips and insights that I wish I had known beforehand, to help make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible!

Timing Is Everything

The first thing to know about visiting Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea with a baby is that timing is crucial. I recommend planning your visit during the off-peak season, ideally on a weekday. Not only will the parks be less crowded, but your little one will have more space to explore without feeling overwhelmed. Plus, shorter lines mean less waiting, which is key when you have a 1-year-old. We found that arriving early, right as the park opens, allowed us to hit a few popular attractions before the crowds picked up although, you can also opt to pay for some fast passes which was also worth it.
